Macroons

Students were painting delicious macarons this week.  They drew out their macarons shapes over a painted wash for the background. Macarons can be deceiving in their shape due to the filling. But it is very important to have those tasty fillings!  They had great fun mixing different vibrant colours for all these smooth macarons.  The final touch was to add those crunchy fillings. They achieved by this using the impasto effect using the palette knife. The finished paintings made us all very hungry!!

Next week we will painting marmalade or jam jars.  Observation of colours is key to painting these jars !!
