Oil Pastels:

Both beginners and returners improved their oil pastels skills by painting ancient tree tunnels. Some even got to create the Dark Hedges in Antrim and other spectacular world ancient tree tunnels.  Perspective, narrowing walkways, shadows and rays of light were all key to producing these spectacular pieces. Students observed where the light was seeping through the trees by using their highlights.  The shadows were achieved by using an array of shadow colours. They also got to practise different techniques to apply the oil pastels.    It was a challenging but really enjoyable lesson.
